How does consigning work?
We accept items seasonally – and either by appointment or drop-off. Please check our Appointments Page for full details on what we’re currently accepting.
Do I have to have an appointment?
Not necessarily. Depending on what we’re accepting, you may be able to bring your items in by drop-off. Unfortunately, we cannot accept walk-in’s at the moment – so be sure to check the website for the most up-to-date info!
What types of items do you accept?
Check our consignment policies for detailed information, but generally we accept maternity & children’s clothing (Newborn to Size 10/12), baby gear, strollers, books, DVD’s and gift items. We do not accept car seats or cribs.
Will I get a receipt for my items when I bring them in?
No, we are unable to provide you an itemized receipt for your items on the day you bring them in. We recommend making your own list prior to coming to Wiggle Room, or taking a picture of your items for your own records.
How do you price items?
We generally price items anywhere between 30%-60% of their original retail price. This varies widely due to the condition, age & demand for the particular item(s), as well as staff experience for what similar items have sold for in the past. While we do set the prices, we also welcome your input on unique items you may be interested in consigning.
Are there any fees to consign at Wiggle Room?
No! We do not charge any fees for consignment or account maintenance.
How do I get paid?
We cut checks on a monthly basis (excluding January & July). Checks are automatically generated for consignors who have account balances that have reached $75 or more. You have three options at Wiggle Room, and can change your preference at any time: Leave my balance @ Wiggle Room, Mail Checks or Pick-Up Checks. There is a small fee associated with issuing your check, and varies depending on whether we mail it or you pick it up.
Why are there two different balances on my account?!
Since we allow for returns, there is a lag between when you item sells, and when your account is fully credited. As a result, there is a payable balance and a total balance. The payable balance reflects what is payable via check (items sold through the previous’ month’s 15th), whereas the total balance includes everything that’s sold to-date on your account. The total balance is available immediately as store credit, until enough time has passed to have it included in the payable balance.
What if my stuff doesn’t sell – Can I have it back?
Yes! You are welcome to retrieve any unsold items you’ve consigned at Wiggle Room. We do ask that you retrieve them before the 65-day period is up, and you will need to pull them from the racks yourself. If you take your item(s) back within the first 40 days of consignment, a small fee will be charged per item to recover the work we’ve put into trying to sell the item. We understand that most people don’t want their items donated – but we cannot guarantee that unless you keep track of your consignment period. We also cannot accept items we’ve returned to you for re-consignment.
How do I know when my 65-day consignment period starts?
The best way is to call us during regular business hours and check on your account a few weeks after bringing your items in. We can then provide you with the number of items listed on your account, your start date and when your consignment period ends. If you’d like a printout of your items after they’ve been inventoried, we ask that you stop by the store when you have a chance and we can produce one for you on the spot – or if you request one to be emailed to you, please allow for a few days to have it sent to you.
Can I have a tax receipt for my items?
We are generally unable to provide you with a donation receipt for your unsold items that are donated to charity. You are able to retrieve your items yourself before the consignment period ends and donate them yourself, if you’d prefer.
Do you accept returns?
Yes! We generally accept returns within seven (7) days of purchase. Strollers & large gear are generally FINAL SALE, in addition to any CLEARANCE sale items (items marked down further than indicated on the price tag).
